The "look at us strong but nerdy girls we have so much in common ermahgod did I mention we're nerds" in the beginning was peak fucking cringe, but overall still enjoyed the movie. The whole needing to trust the villain to save them ending was a really cool idea, but it didn't feel like actual trust. It just felt like one character deciding not to be a total retard. The gesture would have had actual meaning if the person that Raya needed to trust had every incentive and good reason to backstab her.
Fang chieftain had understandable rationalizations for her terrible choices. If this wasn't such a kiddie movie, she could have been a really interesting character in a great story. The way it is, it's an ok movie with ok characters.
