Thing is though I originally didnt have any idea who the hell the Combine would be so in all my dumb fanfictiony ideas I had in my head, I just had some human military standing in for them, with their incentive being to basically mine Amphibia for all its resources and old tech, and I didnt even really have any idea how they would have gotten to Amphibia in the first place lmao.
But now we have Andrias and his empire which makes more sense in-universe, is cooler in general, AND is actually canon.
Im really hoping they do go in to some of the stuff you mentioned, I love details like that in dystopian fiction about how the evil government/empire/etc works and how they control their subjects and stuff. I eat that shit up.
