People are theorizing that The Night is currently in a weakened form (which is why it's surrounded by machinery) and will possess Grime because he's the main toad character, an antagonist already, and has a gem in his eye.

Embrace the fall" is more likely referring to embracing what Amphibia has done for them as both Anne and Sasha's initial arrival was depicted as them literally falling face flat into the ground, the prophecy is saying that whether actually change into better people or reject what they've learned and break apart as a result, Amphibia will change forever as a result of their decisions.

They probably know that a prophecy involving the girls exist thanks to Andrias' line. The prophecy will be fully revealed once it takes a central role with all three girls finally together (for real this time) and united in season three though we might even learn some more stuff about it in True Colors.

I poked my head into the last thread because I wanted to see the reactions to the song... Is the argument really "giving sasha a villain song is too obvious"?

This is a disney show, did people argue giving cassandra in the tangled show, or even dominator in wonder over wonder a villain song made it "too obvious"? Especially since the song has the double meaning thanks to anne being the "heart" and sasha's the "heartstomper"

Hell, both those characters got "redeemed" in the end. Didn't stop them from getting songs about being evil right before they... did evil things. So sasha got a villain song, good for her.

One of the most consistent aspects of this frog show, is bait and switches. Whether it be details, or the plots of entire episodes, it's constantly subverting expectations of the viewer. Portraying or setting up something that should be so obvious, but surprise surprise, the opposite is true.

The difference is that we still don’t know what’s really up with Andrias, while we know exactly what Sasha is planning. We know Andrias is a bad guy, but we don’t know exactly how dangerous he really is, and he hasn’t done anything malicious on screen yet besides reporting to a mechanical thing with multiple eyes. And Andrias never singed “My best friend is an Eldricht Being” or anything like that, so whatever happens with him in TC will be unexpected.
Meanwhile, not only did we expect Sasha to become a villain, it’s been shown multiple times what’s her plan and how they plan to do it. If you just follow it and let it happen....well that’s kinda lazy storytelling. It would be more interesting if you make a twist, not just to “subvert expectations” but because it’s more engaging than just do the thing you spent 3 episodes telling the audience you were gonna do

Not everything has to be a surprise to be interesting and it's not lazy to set up a plot point and then follow it through to its logical conclusion. The Anne and Sasha rematch is nearly guaranteed and it's the most hype thing in the show. Yes, we know that Sasha is going to betray Anne, but it's how that affects their relationship and what happens next as a result that people are interested in. Not to mention how Sasha herself reacts, considering her apprehension in the latest episode.

Heroes also suffer through struggles to defeat the bad guy, and they still have difficulties as they persue their goal. This is why most villains hide their plans and intentions from the audience, so they can have the upper hand in “the darkest moment” for the heroes. But Sasha just told us everything about it, and even singed about it. The villains who expose their plan more often than not fail because you want to make things more interesting for the viewer. Newtopia has more a chance at winning because of how little we know about their plans for the toads and frogs rebellion

It's a bit subtle but the flashbacks show that she can get way too hyperfocused on stuff that she's really into like her Switch, to the point of ignoring others' needs. Almost as if she doesn't really like her life on Earth that much and is constantly looking for escapism.

Band episode prediction while I procrastinate my school work.

There's fair criticism to be thrown at these episodes but holy shit you don't go from one plot point to another without even trying to develop the relationships of the characters after the fact. They've been separated for the longest while, they NEED to talk to each other. In case you haven't noticed, this is pretty much the first time we've seen the trio interact. Rushing the story ironically removes the stakes since it's just shock after shock.

Anyone know that feeling when a show you watch starts to change and become structurally different?
Like, for example, Star vs started as magical girl on Earth who occasionally visits homeworld, to a show about dimension hopping and other nonsense? South Park also did something similar when it became serialized and about Randy.
I'm not saying it will be bad at all, but I kinda see Amphibia doing this, with the girls becoming closer and the Plantars sidelined. The show could become unrecognizable in season 3.
Now the feeling I'm trying to express is one of both happiness, because the show is evolving and moving forward, but also of unease, because it's drifting further from what you know. It's kinda bittersweet in a way.
I don't know what direction the show will go, but I do hope it does change more and become less recognizable from season 1, not because I hate season 1, but because the feeling of change is a powerful feel

already happening and if you think about the plantars lose all relevance to the plot once they get Anne to newtopia, that was their main mission and its done, everything else is the girls that need to do themselves.
I getting to a point i find really annoying how the plantars were in the temples but did absolute nothing.

I don't think so, I think the girls will be split apart farther than ever in season three after True Colors.
I do think we'll get episodes pairing up the Plantars and the other girls like a Sasha and Sprig episode.
