>>122270997>Pickle Rick >action-packed budget-waster That episode was as over-the-top as any other one. Pretty much every episode uses big alien/AU set pieces, new sci-fi tech & weaponry, dozens upon hundreds of new designs & rigs, and a fair amount of SFX and bloody action sequences since the show's embraced graphic violence a lot more as time goes on. The crew clearly wants every episode to feel Big and Cinematic in its own way; that'd explain why the writers seem to always be trying to one-up themselves with grander adventure ideas and increasingly convoluted story deconstructions.
Rick and Morty doesn't give off the vibe that it would ever NEED to save costs for specific episodes in each season. In fact, it's likely [as]'s most expensive series to produce ever. With the celebrity guest stars, fucktons of merch, regular commercial deals, and everything mentioned in my first paragraph, I've no doubt that at this point, the show has episode budgets close to—if not higher than—FOX icons like The Simpsons or Family Guy.
