>>122207510>some obsession with some part of their contentI guess I do have an obsession. But my obsession is with a unique idea that the fluffy pony fandom has provided. It is a cyberpunk/biopunk idea where a futuristic megacorporation has such control over life that they have managed to copyright and patent a life-form, that being the fluffy pony, and market this animal as a "toy". Or, in some canons, its not an animal but a replicant, really driving that cyberpunk idea of a biotoy.
It really asks the questions of "what is life?" How much attachment can you have to a creature thats sold by a corporation? The interesting element of fluffy fiction is to what extent some of the artist or writers have depicted fluffies as animals or biotoys. There's a scale to if if you can notice it.
>>122207890 has the right idea. In such a setting that may seem somewhat dystopian, where a future corporation makes light of the sanctity of life, perhaps Man can find value in a creature thats a corporate product.>>122210997Believe it or not, I actually came from the MLP fandom. I've been in it for ages, all the way to the end. Having followed both fandoms for a while, there's a lot about the fluffy fandom that is unique to it. Even its wholesome pictures are different in nature from the MLP pictures.
It could be argued that I am looking at fluffy ponies as an MLP AU, but that's how its originally started. I am familiar with what, from MLP, inspired the early fluffy pony fiction. And my liking of the wholesome elements of fluffies is motivated by that other love. And going back to the earlier idea, there's not a lot of exploration of speculative fiction and scifi in the base MLP fandom, which is a fantasy series.
