>>121695788>>121695788 I really agree with a lot of this
I think with a few easy story tweaks and given it's original runtime of 130-ish mins, the story would've landed properly
The film repeats the same beat too often in different scenes
>The world is broken, everyone is depressed and at each others throats>Well, everyone just needs trust each other>No-Rinse and repeat for most of the film
I only recall one scene, after Sisu suggests just going straight up to Fang and saying "Hey, lets save the world together", where the party STARTS to explain their feelings, but don't follow through
>They stab people in the backs>They're the worst>Incoherent baby noises>You weren't there when Namaari betrayed meAnd then they just drop it, no one actually explained to Sisu WHY it's so hard to trust, they just tell her it is
Like you said, they could've explained "Hey, I DID trust her, then she betrayed me"
Then we could've had an interesting arc of Sisu coming to terms with the fact that the world isn't as innocent as she thought
But then because of that, not in spite of, she still wants to try building trust
Because that'd be the first step in a better world
