>Humans are unnatural and everything they do in the name of Science and Technology is killing the spiritual worldThere's a world of bountiful magic. Humans appear. Humans get zero magic because the gods or whatever decided that. Humans try to do magic on their own, and end up having to kill magic creatures to do so. This is Absolute Evil, as though none of the Elves have ever stepped on a flower or any of the Dragons have eaten a deer and Humans are the first and only thing ever to kill.
Later we learn that Humans are perfectly capable of using innate magic if they go through a difficult process of learning how to do it and understanding what these magical creature are innately born with. So literally no one ever taught Humans how to do magic and that's the root of the conflict.
Also we have situations like "Soren is a stupid and hot-headed jock for shooting a ballista at the dragon circling the village, which totally justifies it attacking the village afterwards." The dragon's presence there was a threat. It would be like a guy coming into your house with a gun, waving it around, and then you grab a knife and lunge at him and he's like "Oh wow you're so judgmental, I never acted like I was going to shoot anyone, but now that you attacked me first I'm justified in shooting your family."
It's disgusting how desperate the writers are to make the Humans seem evil and short-sighted and erase everyone else's flaws.
