I hate how every character these days is such a Mary/Gary Sue/Stu. When is the last time a major character was introduced who wasn't just trying to be a perfect archetype for tweens to look up to despite the fact that only people in their 30s still read super hero comics?

it was all basically done as a cheap fake-out, so that they could start the issue with someone saying, "he's killed Spider-Man".
Hornet was originally an identity created and used by Spider-Man, but the idea that anyone would mistake Hornet for Spider-Man years later was pretty stupid

Danny isn't a Ghost Rider at the moment. Johnny threw a hissy fit that Danny wouldn't help him hunt down demons and stripped him of his spirit of vengeance. Caretaker sent him to Belasco so now Danny is this mediocre spirit of corruption with a big sword.

How is it that Danny bought back the hard edge that Ghost Rider lost in the 80s only for him to be constantly side lined in the modern era.

Johnny took his entire look for years and Robbie was the first to get on TV so for a good portion of casual comic fans there are only two Ghost Riders. The Bike guy and the Car guy.

Also Danny was a far more interesting character overall and wasn't just contrived nonsense to help push the plot along (at least at first not within the first 20 issues).

The second editorial made them brothers was the second I checkout with any hopes of character growth. Its going to be endless status quo that build off the Marvel Knight run with Ennis.

I love some super-heroes but never felt I had to look up to them; Superman is a beautiful idea, a very humanistic and optimistic character, still I'm far fucking away from it and I'm aware of it.

There is so many over-the-top characters in comics, yet I love them, how could you look up to them for real ?
Even Phoenix Jones is pretty down to earth about idolizing heroic figures.
