You can swear up and down the stage and show all the violence and tits you like, a single drop of blood in a kid's show is worth all the gore in game of thrones and more. The implied safety and limitations of the medium just make it that much more audacious and compelling when those safeties are taken away.
Why else would people clamor for something like this, that pushes the limit of what people like Dyke-rafag think "their" cartoons "should" be? Animation remains a medium with so much untapped potential in the west, so many stories that could be told, but its entrenched in an age bracket, and so every story told has to try in its own way to escape that context.
