I liked this show.
I liked Steven starting off as annoying retard and slowly growing into a more interesting, albeit worse character that felt he constantly had to fix other problems.
I liked him being filled with PTSD.
I liked that Lapis was shitty and her redemption was nutting up and being willing to die for someone.
Pearl, Peridot and Amethyst all were insanely cool.
Garnet was a tad one-note.
This was a show about broken shitty people trying to keep it together against other broken shitty people that also fail at keeping it together, until Steven managed to fix it all only to fall apart himself.

A lot of people seemed mad this wasn't the weekly adventures of Space Warriors & Crew with tons of Sci-Fi lore, but I don't think it was ever intended to be. It was a show about people situated in a sci-fi context.
A lot of people also hated early Steven, which I don't disagree with. I just think it's okay to have main characters that start off in that manner.
