Sam was a vigilante thwarting terrorists against the accords with Steve Nat and Wanda. If you actually look back at the trajectory of the characters it makes more sense. Also you seeing it as identity politics shows you just have a problem with it being a black guy than anything else.

WandaVision is newer. We've seen this genre and thread from the MCU before: enhanced agents, government and terrorist action and intrigue in a muted color palette. There had never been anything in the MCU like WandaVision. To be honest, there have been few shows like WandaVision to begin with. I think some people compared it to Legion? But really, it's like House of M mixed with Too Many Cooks and the surreal Adult Swim fake commercials. I'm still interested in TFatWS, but not excited in the same way.

Considering the last few entries in the MCU were massive battle for the universe, Spider-Man, and reality warping mystery, going back to street level heroes isn't gonna peak the interest of everyone

Honestly I'm not sure why I would care. I don't care for black Captain America. I would be more interested in a Bucky show but let's be honest this will be a Falcon show with Bucky in the background for most of it.

I think this will be good, but Wandavision and Loki will easily top it. From what we've seen in the trailers, FATWS just looks like very generic MCU action. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it just doesn't look to be nearly as interesting as the other shows.

The rumor is it's a double-cross: Ross wants to make his own Avengers, Project Thunderbolts, to remind people not to fuck with America. He's working with Zemo to prove we need Avengers we can trust or something.
But Zemo is fucking over Ross because he gets access to incarcerated and black site prisoners like Abomination, Justin Hammer, Taskmaster, etc. And he decides to use the Thunderbolts to show the world why heroes aren't needed which goes wherever

Honestly. Both are awful options with her

And it would make sense - First War Machine had those Hammer-drones slaved to him, then Tony had that Iron Legion thing - it would make much more sense to give Rhodey, who usually flies solo without any Avengers support, a squad of robots.
