There should be an industry rule to let Bendis start a comic, and then kick him off forcefully halfway and get a better writer.

He made me stop reading superman by taking away all the elements I had been enjoying. The development of the super family was what I liked. The new cw show is going to be about being a family which kinda feels like a validation of what was lost when he took over. Honestly I wont read anything he writes anymore. And I think his overall output at marvel is crap too.

as much as i dont care for his writing, i will say I think he would have been better off creating the ultimate universe of dc. He is not the same writer he was when he was on daredevil, but he got screwed over in a no win situation with superman having a son and jor el being alive. He essentially ruined supersons because he wanted to make a traditional superman run.

The last time we saw Jor-El was in The Oz Effect, and he disappeared in a blue light. That could've just been him being taken by Manhattan or sent back to Krypton to die as he was supposed to. Bendis didn't need to bring him back again and yet he did.

The broader problem is that DC can't seem to attract actually talented writers anymore. All the ones that can write worth a damn already retired or moved on to bigger and better things. The only exceptions aren't interested in retreading old ground, so you'll likely never see another Morrison story about Superman.
