>>121223596The crew of the 1998 series were a bunch of passionate and hungry youngsters who got their big start into it. Guys who worked for the studio who brought them shows they grew up watching. Hell, Craig specifically wanted the Swirling Star Hanna-Barbera logo at the credits instead of the standard comedy logo they used, just because he grew up with that logo.
Also, most of those guys just got their big gig in the business at that point. McCracken, Tartakovsky, Rudish, Renzetti, Faust weren't even in their 30s when the show came out.
It was more than just a cartoon. It was a passion project. It was an homage to older media. It was an homage to Hanna-Barbera. It was for both kids and adults, for both boys and girls.
There will never be another show like the Powerpuff Girls, and not even a reboot can reach its greatness.
