>>121218338I don't think anyone within Marvel cared about what she did in the Mockingbird book, her editor defended her from the fan backlash, and offered her the Vision mini as compensation after Mockingbird got cancelled. For some reason it took two years for them to get from giving her the mini to it being solicited.
There may be something to the speculation that she intended to kill Vision and have Viv take over as the new Vision though. It fits into the agenda under Alonso's Marvel, they probably thought they could get away with it because of the MCU killing him, and when the mini was cancelled, Cain said "Sorry, Viv", like she was going to be the main character. IIRC, she'd also said the book was going to be about "an emotionally crippled father trying to connect with his woke teenage daughter", it's probably for the best it was never published. The pages that appeared online showed that Volton was going to appear, one of Vision's most obscure relatives.
