>>121139541IIRC, besides meeting Jesus, Swamp Thing was supposed to meet God at the dawn of time. God would send him back to the present, but not before teaching Swamp Thing pacifist white magic, the same sort of magic Jesus under Veitch was supposed to wield/possess.
While Swamp Thing was still time traveling, Abby would have her baby (IIRC Veitch had not yet decided the child's gender yet) but the baby would be kidnapped by Arcane, who would escape from Hell and try and start the apocalypse via killing the baby in some unholy demonic ritual. Swamp Thing would arrive back on Earth around issue #94-95 and everything would climax in issue #100. There, Swamp Thing would "purify" Arcane of all of his evil via white magic pacifism (which is why Veitch refused to cut the Jesus issue as it would introduce this power Swamp Thing would wield) and save his kid.
The series would then end with #100 and Swamp Thing, Abby, their kid, and Arcane (now a kindly, pure good figure working as a country doctor) would live happily ever after. Millar would rip off Arcane's redemption arc in his run, though under different circumstances (Arcane is converted to a born again Christian by a priest who was in hell for something that was never explained but wasn't TOO severe that he was able to keep his faith and do the impossible and convince Arcane to renounce evil).
