You mean Season 4, because C&C only got 3 seasons before CN pushed Feiss to focus on I Am Weasel. C&C is literally the only Cartoon Cartoon that was actually overshadowed by its B-cartoon.

It was genuinely a good show, it's one of those cartoons that becomes better when you watch it as an adult since you can appreciate the jokes and stories much better.

The weirdest part is that despite being popular and CN executives liked it, the show itself only had 79 episodes. This may seem alot, but it's actually 79 7-minute episodes, not the standard half-hours that cartoons usually have.

To this day, the production of Weasel remains a mystery. Why did it have so few episodes? Why did it's one season only have 9 half-hours consisting of 27 episodes when the standard is 13 half-hours per season? Was it a feud between CN and David Feiss?

Reminder, CN forced the first three Cartoon Cartoons to have an ABA-format for their shows. While they were 23 minutes, the first two seasons of Dexter, the first season of Johnny Bravo and the entire run of Cow & Chicken was basically:
>7 minutes of A-show
>7 minutes of B-show
>7 minutes of A-show
That's why their episodes were so short. Starting from PPG (with the exception of Grim & Evil), the Cartoon Cartoons had their two-11 minute episode formats.

I know that, but why go the effort of giving Weasel his own show when it only lasted so few episodes? 52 of them were the B segment in C&C and only 27 standalone, which is "Season 5" when it's really Season 1 of Weasel outside of C&C.

What the fuck happened? Never experienced such a thing before. It was popular, so why drop it so quickly?

Well, Feiss & CN did have some conflict. Feiss wanted to focus more on C&C, while CN wanted more IAW. I think ultimately, Feiss and CN just decided to have just one more season and just separate the previous 52 episodes and just call them "S1 & 4 of IAW" and just go with it.

I even heard a rumor somewhere that for one more IAW season, Feiss was allowed to make a C&C movie. Could never find info confirming it, so take it with a grain of salt.
