It's a tie between the original 1989 Tim Burton Batman and Batman Begins. Nolan suffers from trying to be too realistic, whereas Burtion's has some minor questionable creative liberties. They're two halves of what a perfect Batman film should be

Jesus how things have changed. The Dark Knight trilogy is still my favorite though even after watching all Marvel and DC.

Returns is a great episode of a Batman serial, because he's not the focus, the villains are. It's the one I want to watch the most.

But a movie is something where the hero goes through an organic change, and the best film version of Batman's origin is Begins. All the others have a forced "why should I keep being Batman when I could have FEMALE PUSSY???" subplot and it just doesn't work. We know he isn't going to quit being Batman, except in TDKR, and that just shows why that choice is fucking stupid.
