Dude, the only reason they managed to stop the symbiote invasion was because Strange and Thor worked together to stop it. Jean got to find that the Enigma Force, creator of the Captain Universe is actually the one thing that can beat Knull, and Surfer got to deliver it to Eddie.

If anything, in this issue Knull actually didn't do shit.

I'll defend a good chunk of issue 1 for really showcasing a lot of heroes. Even if they are losing, it feels like the heroes are making a real difference in each fight.

The tie-ins have been really fucking solid as well. Between Hulk, Black Cat, and Thunderbolts, I'd argue that these are the best tie-ins we've had since Civil War II (despite being one of the worst comics of all time, the tie-in for that event were mostly good).

I was 100% on board with the idea that he was just as bad as Batkek (before his return in JL, let alone Batmanhattan) for a while, but The Wraith one shot made me have a little hope that he could be a good character. I think what makes him work is that while he is an omega level threat, the heroes have been able to hurt him and there has been some back and forth with him suffering from some real losses.

Something else occurs to me. Knull is basically some great old one that's been asleep for ages, between being dead and his imprisonment. While he's had some good moments, he's basically got a smaller kill count across solar systems than most cosmic threats. Anyone else think he's supposed to just be what happens when the sealed evil ends up being eclipsed? I mean, most of his threat comes from his servants.
