they have no actual concept of morality. they just think that what makes them feel good is good, and what they do is good (regardless of what it is they do) because they believe themselves to be good people.
they don't have the concept that an action can be inherently wrong, or the motive behind an action can be wrong. They are good, so whatever they do is good. The people they don't like are bad, so whatever they do/support is bad. that's why they're so absolutely shit at writing superheroes, who are supposed to be good people because they stand up and perform good actions, and stand against evil actions, and their actions are what make them good people.
mockingbird is a great example. she cheats and lies and murders, but these are all considered "good, acceptable actions" to them because "mockingbird is a good person" where as we see it as going off the fucking rails because to us, lying, cheating, and murdering are immoral actions which turn mockinbird from a good person to an evil one.
