Paperinik came about through Donald inheriting Villa Rosa(wrongly, it was meant to go to Gladstone, at least according to some versions), and finding the diaries, outfit and tools of a legendary gentleman thief.
Donald decides to use what he learns to get revenge on his family and Daisy.
He later becomes a hero instead of an avenger.

Origin story is literally feminism on steroids. Daisy wants to prove that women are better then men so she creates her own super hero identity and gets to humiliate Paperinik every single time. Readers did not like this at all since Paperinik stories were meant to be those times when Donald was put into a situation where he would come out on top as a winner.

Little note on the triplets:
While in North America, Cartoons, and Italian comics, Huey is red, Dewey is blue, and Louie is Green...
In Egmont tales, Huey is blue, Dewey is green, and Louie is red.
It didn't end up being a big issue in this story thanks to them not wearing their standard outfits, but it makes it confusing to decide how to translate them.

Did Don Rosa ever get Barks to do anything during his Duck run? I know he's a huge Barks fanboy and I know they met cos of pic related but I don't think I've ever heard of him getting Barks to help with an issue or anything which surprises me considering how big a fanboy he was.

His accomplice was Dolly Paprika.

Donald was inspired by him to become Paperinik, who started as a thief for vengeance.

Well, Donald masquerading as Gladstone masquerading as Fantomius.

fan fact: Dolly Paprika's first appearance was as a costume worn by Daisy in Paperinik's second or third story.
Gladstone was also wearing a Fantomius costume in that story

it gets more confusing in Italian as "Grandson", "Granddaughter", "Niece" and "Nephew" are ALL translated as "Nipote"

And Dickie was exclusively called Goldie's "Nipote" until very recent times.
Which means nobody was certain if Goldie was her aunt or grandmother until like 5 years ago.

Thank you for this translation of this comic. That comics is great. I love this Victorian period in England and Scotland and how Scrooge lived in poverty and after work gained great wealth, not inheriting wealth by doing nothing like his rival Rockerduck. I would still like to see the adventures of Scrooge when he was still a boy. And yes, I like that his first love was good girl and orphan Brenda, not Goldie, Magica, Brigitta or Mrs Quackfaster. Actually I love Donald in Lot3c and as a super warrior there, but here I thought more of the standard Donald, like his bad luck, his jealousy of Mickey, bad treatment of him and pests that annoy him like Chip and Dale. I'm already tired of seeing him like that. I thought DT17 would improve it, but the creators of that series are bothered by Donald's voice, so they ruined Donald as well. Considering that Francesco Artibani(a fairly good duck writer, has worked on PKNA, Doubleduck, and done good work with a young Donald before in Donald Duckling ) wrote most of this, it really shouldn't have been as underwhelming as it is.
At least some of the chapters look nice, mostly Mazzarello's.

Ah. So basically there's a comic about Scrooge and her, where they search in Asia for treasure. He of course because he's greedy, she does it, as far as I remember, to impress him. They are forced to work together and sleep at the home of a poor Asian couple. They bond by having to improvise and doing chores and repairs at the house, where Scrooge e.g. notices that she's good with finances, while he has some housework skills.
At the end, they manage to find the treasure together, and it's just a fake treasure chest with a letter in it that says "Love". It was hidden by the Asian couple, and they use that to get people together who don't realise they belong together. The same happened to them once.

It was a nice story, and I hate love stories.

Yeah I downloaded that one recently. Was throwing away most of them (they were in a disastrous condition) and then looked online for my favorite comics, including that one, Marco Polo and the one where Scrooge finds the Titanic but doesn't want to spend any money on that operation (which was a generally awesome collection of comics).

The comics which stick the most to me was 1. the space comic where Daisy is a space princess, but while she's not in her kingdom, the Beagle Boys hack the kingdom's computer and get declared kings of the planet. Then they attempt to destroy her with giant, human looking space robots. Always was a huge fan of those old space comics, they were always imaginative and made me think space was way more interesting than it is. And 2. the comic where Gyro and Donald sleep on an island which got evacuated for some reason, and it turns out that nightmares become real there. So Donald has to fight off his childhood nightmare creatures with the methods he made up as a child (destroying one with a water pistol for example).

Artist here. There's a point in which you have to make a "Not-do" list. You would not believe the kind of crazy (and I mean the psychopant, Charles Manson kind of crazy) request you can get from a potential client. Take in count that many artists doing commisions also has regular jobs in the field, and you don't want your name attached to some stuff that could or could not be ilegal in 75 countries.

Owww okay. They altered an idiom so it becomes an alliteration. The German text uses many alliterations and wordplay. For a comic series, the way they write the dialogue is very smart, but probably hell to translate.

I'm... a bit unclear on what you are asking exactly.
I can understand german fairly well, so scanlating stories from there is usually not too hard or time-consuming(though it still takes a fair bit of time, obviously).
Italian stories though... I know no italian, so to translate those, I need to first google translate them, then use common sense to put together what was said, so those probably take more than four or even five times as long.

When dealing with italian, I suggest to google- translate it to spanish FIRST (or portuguese, they're gramatically similar enough) and then translate from spanish to english.
