Well, "What women want" is a super subjective and malleable thing.
But it helps to design your character from a standpoint of "what would he/she want" and not exclusively "what do the fans want".
And at that point you can have a lot of different answers to what they would be wearing.
A character that grows and is violent like the Hulk would not wear expensive suits but cheap shit and elastic shorts underneath.
She-Hulk's body suit was a pretty good design, I think, for someone who can expect to be in violent altercations with close skin contact and might become more buff in the process, meaning sleeves are right out.
Also the costume is more for modesty than protection because what the fuck would wound her?
Now, Carol Danvers' redesign tries to be "practical" via tacticool, but it completely misses that she's a flying brick. What does she need a kind of motorbike overalls for? What can that protect her from that would harm her?
That's packing a tank in shrink wrap.
Give that kinda shit to street-level characters.
