>>120364499>Hirsch just wanted to keep the story focused on two generations of twins learning the hardships of growing up, and after enough time thinking, he didn’t feel that could be stretched out for more than two seasons.that's what he says, but he also got tired of working for Disney. You can look up his profiles and see how much shit he talks about the company and how hard it made him work, he was sick of it at a point. Understandably so considering they took 4 years to release 2 seasons, so his decision to close it at 2 seasons was the result of his personal experience as much as his story. Disney was willing to give more money to GF, and to be perfectly honest, the story really wasn't that good that it couldn't have been helped by more episodes. Bill Cipher was an underdeveloped disappointment, Ford didn't have much time to shine, the cipher wheel prophecy was a waste of time, Mabel was made a total cunt, etc. Saying it was perfect at 2 seasons is a disservice, and the real reason it ended at that was because of Alex's experience and desires for his career. He, like Dana, wanted to do more adult stuff instead of kid shit.
Also, its pretty dumb to say he ended it at two seasons because of "two generations of twins and it only needed two seasons" when he has done nothing but shill more Gravity Falls content since then, so he has essentially done the content for 2 more seasons already on the extra material, proving there was always potential for more.
>I can totally see it lasting three or four full seasons just to wring its “witch school” opportunities dry.The same way a lot of GF fans justified their four full seasons, comparing it to Phineas and Ferb and its endless summer, saying how much the world had to explore, etc. And look where that ended up.
