Been a while since we had one of these, so why don’t we bring it back.

For those that don’t know:
>Swamp Korra is a /co/ what if of it Korra was a Swamp Bender instead of from the Southern Water Tribe. In order to properly become the Avatar, both she and the world will have to move past their current mindsets to help bring balance to the world once more. Also, she really has to get over her racism towards Firebenders.

It's the Fire Nation, Earth Kingdom, Water Tribes, and Air Nomads. The Nation/Kingdom parts may be kinda interchangable, but the correct form is as above.

And provide a clear character arc. Talking about actual canon here, how would you guys do another Avatar series post-Korra? Would you try and bring back the past lives?
>next series focuses exactly on that, trying to reconnect with the past Avatars after Korra fucked shit up
>new Avatar is an Earthbender that only has Korra to talk to, sucks at bending but has a good grasp on spiritual shit
>Bending is now almost completely commodified, pretty much nobody does classic martial arts and it's all just basic "punch and throw fireball" shit now
>Threat is Fire Nation old Ozai loyalists attempting to bring things back to "the way they were" during the Hundred Year War and overthrowing the current Fire Nation leaders
>during all of this Vaatu remanifests and the current Avatar learns the true meaning of 'balance' (reawakening the connection to the past lives through finding them in the Spirit World or some shit I dunno)
>at the same time can't just let Vaatu fly around freely so epic fight at end of season coinciding with Sozin's Comet returning to echo the OG series
>Fight ends with the previous Avatars returning to empower the current one, uses mass combo of all four elements to trap Vaatu in a meteor and hurl it into distant orbit so he can't be freed again
I think it could be salvaged

It came up in the OG Swamporra Threads, but /co/ tried to create sequel to Korra where the Spirits fucked up the world and drove it into Mad Max style wasteland. The next Avatar would be a Sandbender traveling around the world trying to bring back a livable civilization and stop the Spirits from running amok. As most /co/ things do, it petered out after Waifu faggotry, but I still think the core concept would be really unique, and keep the Avatar from jumping to Modern Day which would just be weird.

Putting aside most of the "Avatar Wan" shit and other crap that there is probably no coming back from...
Something that seems to have been misinterpereted by most people, and even the writers of Korra; The Avatar isn't a force of peace, they are a force of Balance.
So, to world build a bit, if TLoK managed to advance civilization by many hundreds, if not thousands of years, it would be understandable that the next Avatar series might be in a near modern world, if not slightly futuristic.
So, new world for the Avatar would probably be in an age of peace. And the new Avatar would be an "Evil". Maybe play a bit with that "Corrupt future gov't vs the underdog rebel" story to keep the general concept of you watching the good guys, but the new Avatar would be an anarchist of some kind or something. Creating chaos, destroying this "Peace", to restore Balance.
Like a modern day Anakin story or something.

Yes, but it would be done in a specific way.

The Fire Nation had steam powered iron ships, jet skis, tanks, etc. AtLA was effectively a mid 1800s setting, just with most of the Earth Kingdom being backwater peasants and no gun powder.

The Fire Nation controlled fire, and sometimes electricity if they were powerful enough. Most other nations had no way of converting their bendable material into usable energy of some sort like the Fire Nation could. They would need advanced electronics to be able to create any struction that could convert earth, air, or water movement into usable energy or something.
So the mean average of each civilizations technological advancement would place it somewhere near the 1700's or earlier, with the Fire Nation just being uncommonly more advanced.

Also, literally all the bending can be used to make energy and be useful. E.g. water wheels, air turbines, etc. They had the power, the idea just hadn't come yet.

Been a while since I watched Korra, but from what I remember
1. The earth kingdom is still in war/hasn’t been United since Korra beat up the person who was uniting it. Given that, it could focus on reunification of a divided country. Though they’d probably just leave them separate. Could possibly touch on racism (like how Koreans Japanese and Chinese people are weirdly racist to each other).
2. She just opened the portal and didn’t do shit after / the show never really touched on it at all iirc. From Wan’s back story spirits were fucking assholes to humans, attacking them for on reason at all. This would have to be addressed in a sequel, given there’s no way they just stopped doing that when given free reign in the world again.
3. The avatar cycle should be fixed, so they’d have to do that.
As for specific enemies I feel Korra shouldn’t have had all the different enemies she did. Each of the bad guy groups could have been the main villains, so I’d make sure there’s only one bad guy group / one main one for all the seasons.

Remember that Nick was fucking with the show and they didn't think they were gettiing multiple seasons and/or had a chance of just being canceled for not being Spongebob so the first two seasons are disjointed and weird for mostly that reason

You could go a more earnest route and have an Avatar either far before Aang or far after Korra.

That being said, Korra gives us the timeline of a ROCK LOVING 80's earthbender youth, and a zoomer or generation alpha firebender in the age of technology.

The spirit realm interacting with the internet would be kind of shitty and stupid, that being said, you could argue that the invisible waves and whatnot interacting with the spirit realm would allow for a blend of the two. Electronic bank heists into where it's 'held' in the spirt/cyber realm. Information theft. Again, kind of stupid, but every stupid idea is decent if it's explained well in universe.
