Then it turns out that no, they really are just that retarded. Same thing with TLJ, the buildup seemed shaky and full of holes but it at least looked like they were going somewhere fun and exciting with it, but then the next installment came and without the hope of what comes next, it's just clear this is just bad writing through and through. There's nothing to look forwards to and nothing to be excited about because season 3 just made it clear all the flaws you forgave in season 2 were every bit the waste of time and stupid plot you thought they might be but hoped would build to something better.
In times like this, I always point to Jurassic Park. Nobody thinks the T-Rex stomping in at the last minute like a ninja isn't a plothole, but it's so fun and exciting most people don't care. If you want to be stupid, deliver.
