>>119972320From what I've gleamed, it's a cornucopia of factors. Long entrenched financial business practices, extremely, suffocating small number of animation studios to pitch to, the disincentives and apparent apathy in hiring a large enough workforce in animation to create a variety of different shows, and the general cultural consensus in the West that relegates animation to infantilizing stories without much depth to them.
In my opinion, while I applaud Tricky Shot for getting picked up by the network initially, it didn't look anything different than what's currently being peddled by the likes of CN and the Mouse. None of the canned shows scream innovative or insightful, not like Infinity Train. Not every show needs to meet its standards, but the abhorrent lack of subject matters and art style in Western animation makes me extremely dejected and just want to spend my time studying Eastern animation and the plethora of products they put out each season.
