Your problem is you are conflating the "Talos was not a bad guy" with your political narrative of "they were saying all refugees are good". They didn't say that at all. Notice how at the end of the film she decides to take Talos and friends to a new world and didn't let them just settle on Earth?
Your political narrative of the film was wrong and that is causing you to skew your whole view of things. The reason a 1000 year war was reduced down to barely anything was because: you can't sit there and have 20 minutes of exposition in your action-adventure movie. So yeah it was cliff notes. But guess what? Like they do all the time: they can expand things out in Secret Invasion and explain WHY it is happening.
So you're complaining about all the wrong things because of your skewed anger at the "refugees = good" narrative that you think the movie had.
