The days grow colder, the nights grow longer... It's time! The /co/ Holiday Cheer thread is back in town! Storytimes, streams, traditions, food, contests, puzzles, gifts and of course /co/mradery and cheer all around! So, grab some cocoa, turn on the music of the season, and get comfy while we hang out and get into the holiday spirit!
As previous years, share your Amazon wishlist and some random Anon may purchase a holiday gift for you. If you frequent the threads, please don't spam your list number, once per thread is good enough. Just because you've posted your list doesn't mean someone will purchase you a gift. It's random how Anons will choose who to buy for, but please take a look through some of the lists and see if there's anyone/thing you want to gift.
To share a list click on “Send lists to others” in the top right of the wishlist, then click “View only”. If you use the “View and Edit” Anyone using that code will be able to add and remove items from you list.
If you are using one of the international versions of Amazon please let us know when you post your list.
24/7 stream available, as well as other regular streams - links in the pastebins below.
We're at 117 registered and 109 gifted.
[Gifted has not been formally updated, but only the NON .com anons remain to be gifted, all the USA anons were in the last thread]

Started watching this new show this week called Next, really damn good. It the whole human level AI gets out of a research facility and tries to build itself up enough to take out humans. But it's done very intelligently, there is no keyboard warriors racing to hack something faster, they would of course lose every time. Instead, it can control everything so they have to avoid tech or pull it off the grid. Also lots of social hacking both by the AI and by the people trying to stop it. Very current too but that is mainly to use the current form of technology like deep faking a cop killing a protestor and then instantly sharing that everywhere in the country. Pretty creepy too, like when they go to not Boston Dynamics and are showing current research. There is a disembodied lips and larynx that starts talking to the cop in her families voices. Just 6 episodes out, but it might be the best hacking type show I have seen. If they can stick the landing.

Stupendous Sunday, Sweethearts! December 13th is not a good day at all, even when it's not a Friday. For example, December 13th, 1937 was a Monday, but it was still unlucky for the residents of Nanking when the Japanese took over during the Second Sino-Japanese War and started having their way with them for the next six weeks or so. About as unlucky was also the population of Klavryta in Greece, on December 13th, 1943, also a Monday. Because that's the day when the 117th Jäger Division came into town and slaughtered about 700 people as retribution for guerrillas operating nearby killing Germans they captured. And finally, on December 13th, 1981, trying to stomp out dissent before the Soviet Union comes over to do it for them, the leaders of communist Poland declared martial law. Which might be the chillest one of the three, because after a year and a half their killcount was still only in the double digits. And now that you know all this, go have a cheery Sunday.

Hey, friends. I've been conspicuously missing from the threads, for which I'm sorry since I've been too busy to participate more actively... But I have more time now and hopefully in the next coming days, so I'll be able to hang around over here and share with the /co/mrades.
First of all, I'd like publicly thank Krypto for gifting me some days ago! I really appreciate the gesture and I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever it is he sent me, I look forward to receive it in the next couple of weeks. I'm so thrilled because I didn't get any new comics this year, and I missed getting packages in the mail. You're the best.
And second, and most importantly, I'm now ready to give the fine folks of /co/ a gift! I'm giving away a gift certificate from
InStockTrades.com worth $20, so you can buy whatever comic you like from their catalog and, if it's not too expensive, cover the shipping costs, so you won't have to worry about that either. Said gift certificate will be sent via email and you can redeem it in the store, using that same email if the certificate during checkout.
Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with the store, just in case. This is basically like an Amazon gift card except better because IST don't handle the packages like footballs before shipping... In case I'm accused of shilling, one of /co/'s pastimes The conditions? You have to answer a TRIVIA! A Simpsons trivia to be exact. I'm in the process of creating the Google poll thing (sorry, I would use a personal domain but I don't want people after me) and I'll review the questions to see who got the most answers right. In case of a tie, I'll do a rerun. And hey, just because it's a Simpsons trivia doesn't mean it's gonna be easy, I'm a big fan and I am designing it so only those who pay a lot of attention would get them right. So yes, those who want to participate, keep an eye on this thread and the next for when I post the trivia, and if you have any questions, just ask away.

>>119640631 The title is false advertisement and that alone is what makes that movie disappointing. Also this is suppose to be a sequel/closer to the 80s tv show The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo and sadly its nothing like the TV show. Main characters aren't in the movie. At least 3 are not. Most importantly is the false title of this movie. This was suppose to be closure and it just leaves the same question at the end. Movie poor written too.

With
Bezolandia.de , it only said "out for delivery" and then "delivered today" without any further details.
Likewise to the gifts I bought in 2017-2019 for .uk anons. Which is why so far I only gifted one .DE anon whose active in the threads regularly and I know will reply with an "I got it in my hot little hands."

Alright friends, this is it! The Simpsons Trivia is a go:
https://eternity.watch/simpsons-trivia The above shortened link will take you to a Google Forms with the full quiz. It will ask you for a valid email address* for purposes of communication with the winner, and a six-digit number at the end to easily identify every entry on these threads without revealing contact info. It consists of 20 questions with a mix of medium and hard difficulty, so you can prove how knowledgeable you are about deepest Simpsons lore. The trivia will run until tomorrow Monday, at 8PM ET, when I'll be announcing the winner.
I remind you that the winner will get a $20 gift certificate from InStockTrades, so do your best, and no cheating! Good luck!
*= You can use a throwaway email for the initial phase, as long as you can send and receive messages in that inbox. In case I can't get in contact with you within 24 hours from the moment if the announcement, I'll assign another winner from the list. In case this thread dies tomorrow, I'll repost the details.

Otherwise, my personal gifting philosophy is stuff I read and recommend (thus the Venture Brother's HC from Dark Horse last year, or the Ito deluxe which is one of the few manga I'm really familiar with). Or the things I thought looked interesting that are often indie books/or creator owned.
It's the same as the toy board giving actual toys (e.g not adult toys) or a lit board giving actual non-graphical books (not sequential art). It's just something to keep in mind, while some don't care, that's not the norm, IMHO.

>>119656255 the orginal series of Scooby-doo was bad. Boring characters, predictable plots, unfunny jokes and bad animation made Scooby-Doo a pile of, well.... doggy doo.
Besides that, it was quite obvious that Shaggy and Scooby were a pair of stingers. They always had the munchies and whenever they left the van there was a puff of smoke. Also, Freddy had NO personality whatsoever. While he and Daphne were off "looking for clues" (yeah right) Scooby and Shaggy always got themselves into trouble. How come he never figured out that the two of them couldn't be trusted on their own?

>>119656255 Here is what you basically get with every episode of Scooby-Doo: 1. The gang runs into some sort of crime. 2. They attempt to solve it. 3.They get chased around by a so called ghost 4. The catch up with the ghost and realize he's a fake, trying to scare people away so he can commit his crime. 5. The criminal says: I would have gotten away with it too, if it hadnt been for you meddling kids!
The same devices come back all the time: if you see a painting, its eyes move; a scary event is met with a delayed reaction; the characters run on the spot or hang in the air for an ungodly amount of time (a Hanna-Barbera favorite) before taking off; incredulous characters are oblivious to obvious goings-on; moving backdrops are repeated ad nauseam and the animation is extremely limited. It's all new for the canned laughter machine (for cartoons? lord we train them early to be knee-jerk followers): it laughs every time.

Mondo Monday, Meatbags! December 14th is a day of great changes. For example - on December 14th, 1782, Joseph-Michel and Jacques-Étienne Montgolfier absolutely changed the paradigm of human travel by conducting the first test of their fancy new invention, the hot air balloon, paving the way of man's conquest of the sky. The funny thing is, over a century later the Wright brothers conducted the first test of THEIR fancy new invention on December 14th, 1903, but since it didn't go so well, they're getting a spotlight on the day they actually succeeded. Moving on from avionics to military strategy, but staying within the confines of France (somewhat), on December 14th, 1812, the last remnants of Napoleon's armies left Russia after being given a large L (or I guess a large ?). That forever tarnished the image of ol' Nappy as an unstoppable juggernaut, and may have very well changed the course of history. Another thing that changed the course of human history and the science of war happened on December 14th, 1940, when Glenn Seaborg and his associates from the University of Berkeley isolated Plutonium for the first time. Plutonium, of course, is what usually powers nuclear weapons. And finally, on December 14th, 2008, political discourse was forever changed when Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi threw his shoes at US President George W. Bush.

A3NADTUSGPT8, your gift should have been delivered yesterday. It was either left with you or hopefully someone you know. Amazon says "It was handed directly to a receptionist or someone at a front desk." 1ITZQ009JQCSP, yours is out for delivery right now, you should hopefully get it today. 1109JG2PDG6IH, Amazon says you got it yesterday, it was "Your package was left near the front door or porch." 109R4EEQKHCY3, yours just shipped this morning from a third party seller. It sounded like it was in good condition, so if it isn't let me know. Everyone else got theirs and let me know, including my mom and aunt, not that that matters here.

I got two gifts in the mail, probably on Saturday but it might have been in Friday's mail (since one was a bit bulky, manager hadn't sorted through all the mail and placed the bulky stuff where it should have been).
Both came with no notes and only one is from my Amazon wish list, so I think this came from:
>>119326937 So if you see this, thanks.
And yes, I know these are toys for kids. All I wanted was a Jimmy, Clark and Lois for my desk.

I also got some treats, chocolate, fig bars, coffee and tea, a coffee travel mug (blank) and a Superman coffee mug, but I think that is from my friend in Maine who is currently in the Caribbean or I would ask plus NONE of this stuff was on my Amazon list. But I appreciate it, I made coffee today from scratch with real beans!
