The dragons, the swords, the martial arts, the music, it's all just so janky. You need to have someone explain to you why the things I listed are actually cool and not fucking lame from a Western point of view.

Chinese dragons are faggy, Chinese swords are weak and flimsy, Chinese martial training is too dogmatic and Chinese music is fucking discordant.

I like the human form more than the dragon one. The dragon feels like a misunderstanding of the aesthetic they're going for, she's ugly unintentionally. The human uses the same features in a way that shows understanding of their intent. She's weird looking in a way that is internally consistent and conveys what they wanted to convey.

Dragon is sexier but a worse design.

What a shame the movie's art direction doesn't seem to take much inspiration from actual Southeast Asian artwork, it could have had such a unique visual style instead of looking like every other bland cgi kids' film.

I'm assuming this scene is with Sisu in a depowered state. I assume it's because Disney is not original and the movie will have the same beats as Moana with the princess finding the supernatural hero who has been weakened or otherwise is not at full strength.
