>>119540471>Deep State but I have yet to hear it explained in a way that makes senseI've come to understand it as when officials of a government start fraternizing amongst themselves in a way that is functionality antithetical to the principals upon which the government was founded on. A "little government" inside the government where the "bigger" government is just a buffer shielding the real seat of power, allowing them immunity to not have to answer to anyone but themselves and their own rules.
People get crazy with it and talk about free Masons or aliens or whatever, but to me the real world examples are more mundane, lazily opaque, but still shitty. An example to me would be when a democratic or republican government caters to lobbyists and businesses instead of its constituents.
Sometimes it culminates in big moments like the Obamacare shutdown. If you think that was about republicans vs democrats, think again. That shit was that was most likely pulled by the extremely wealthy insurance and pharmaceutical industries using sleezy shills like Ted Cruz to throw a tantrum.
Like, these Pharma motherfuckers legit tried putting a $3k price on a coronavirus pill earlier this year. This is the only first-world country where they can get away with that bullshit and they love it. That Shkreli dude told everyone what the game was and got skewered and labeled a renegade for saying exactly what that industry does behind closed doors.
