Yeah, I've been hearing about this, and I think that while the idea behind Godzilla's Revenge and understanding where Ishiro Honda's mind was as he was asked to make it enhances the viewer's interpretation of the final result, especially when considering how Honda probably approached the story with Shinichi Sekizawa. HOWEVER, people still don't get that despite spotting glimpses of the movie's original intent (to be light-hearted and less intense after filming Destroy All Monsters), they all of a sudden call it a masterpiece because of what the filmmakers WANTED it to be, arguing that justifies the fact that the movies sucks. This is retarded. Godzilla's Revenge may have had vision, but it was made so hurriedly and so un-Godzilla that you can just tell Honda wanted to do something different and have his cake and eat it too. Not that I don't blame him, it's just that the film sucks for it. The film should still be seen as bad. >>119346483
They're okay at best. It was a massive step backwards from Godzilla 2000, and still pales in comparison to the effects work and cinematography of the Hesei Gamera movies. The story has neat ideas, but plays out dully. There is no stylistic flare, and the quality of the script is lacking. If the movie could be personified into a physical manifestation of its whole, it would be a bowl of warm water with one of those toys that are supposed to grow inside it-- but never does. And all that promise is just stagnant, aying there, and you're just bored and disappointed.>>119346673
Is this that one fag that shits on everything showa by making huge generalizations?
