>>118944096This is a spoiler alert, but Hell is a relatively new thing to even religions (of which there are thousands, millions, whatever, many much older and that lasted longer than Christianity) and there's absolutely no evidence you need to worry about a "Hell" more than you do a "Tartarus" and Zeus and Apollo, etc. In which case in a bastardized Pascal's Wager, you are more likely to get punished forever for not picking the correctly obscure "real" deity out of billions than to be punished for any "Christian" reason. Plenty of other Halls older than the idea of Christianity.
But really, honestly, Hell is just a pretty new concept people came up with to get people to behave, especially back when enforced laws could be tough. It scared people into following early laws. Before that, it wasn't needed because human groups were so small and tight knit that if you were an asshole, the group would just expel you, and then you'd die.
