They don't dedicate entire episodes literally looking at the screen and calling the fans manbabies, they simply poke fun at stuff practically everyone agrees are stupid, petty gripes. And their jabs are easy to laugh off since in general it's a genuinely funny and well written show. It's just trying to have fun rather then being insecure and defending itself from the "haters".
