But perhaps with some like Event Horizon sort of stuff, like while you're in there, you get visions of bad times from your past, or dead loved ones stabbing at your weaknesses, and little hints of something big trying to get from one universe to another, and that made the cross over happen.
But I mean, Roadside Picnic already is pretty much made for some great horror, Tales from The Zone sort of thing.
STALKER the movie is like visual meditation, although it also has good scary stuff like Porcupine who committed suicide after trying to get the wish granting Room to bring his brother back to live, and kept giving him money instead because that's what his soul truly valued.
It's odd no ones tried to do a really proper Roadside Picnic movie or TV series.
