But also, having known a few Muslim folks, I think it is accurate that they enjoy the smell of it just fine. Usually it's a bit more restrained given that they don't actually know what it tastes like - it smells good, but the taste/smell connection isn't quite there, so they're not craving for it the same way everyone else would. It shouldn't be too hard to imagine the idea that a foodstuff smells great - especially a super popular foodstuff - even if you're not allowed to eat it.
