Worst one was the guy who filmed himself in his room doing a movie review of the whole movie while purposely mispronunciations shreks name. I have no idea why it was included since it didn’t reenact the scene it was supposed to.

I enjoy indie/diy stuff so this was a lot of fun and though some parts were weaker I'm glad it exists.

I think it'll end up being 3GI's magnum opus and anything else they do won't be as good.

What do you like more about Shrek 1? I for one think the comedy of Shrek 2 is better, the story less cliche expands on the world and pays off stuff from the first one and the message about love being blind and appearances not mattering as much as love makes much more sense when the villain is a not midget.

Shrek 1 has more heart and some sincerity. Humor isn't nearly as reliant on pop culture references, characters are more likeable, Donkey isn't as annoying, Farquadd isn't nearly as hateful as the fairy godmother, not as much toilet humor and no product placement ( Farbucks, Burger Prince ) or trans jokes. 1 is just a better written, more heartfelt and cohesive film overall

Shrek 2 was decent but I think 1 was better than 2. 2 had way too many pop culture references for my taste and some things the characters do make little sense. So yeah like the other anon said 2 is enjoyable but 1 is way better

Shrek 1 was literally made as Katzenberg's fuck you to Disney with Farquadd being a sand-in for Eisner there was nothing sincere about it since its conception and it also tried so desperately to appear more contemporary leading to an era of the same shitty "we're not Disney" knock-offs. Sherk 2 has a lot less of Katzenberg's seethe all over it and is overall just a much better comedy film in comparison; more cohesive, more expansive and just more of what made the first Shrek great. Complaining about the humor being referncial is just plain stupid because Shrek 1 was just as much heavily reliant on it, by the time it made its Matrix reference it was considered dated and overused even back then. also

You're wrong. Shrek 1 had a few references like the Matrix one, but they were few and far between. Shrek 2 on the other hand was nothing more than Family Guy comedy from start to finish. I assure you that 2 had a worse influence on the medium than 1 ever did.

Anyone who says Shrek 2 is better than 1 is just kidding themselves. 2 had way, way more emphasis on pop culture humor than 1, plus it just wasn't as touching or heartfelt. Donkey was flanderized into an obnoxious character and Fiona became bland, losing the agency she had in 1. It also had more toilet humor as well. Finally, dance party ending was worse in every way.

Shrek 1 simply holds up better. 2 was already a dated film around the late 2000s, nevermind nowadays.
