It was especially neat considering they first did an episode with an original big game hunter character hunting the Rescue Bots, and I thought "This is fun but I wish they'd just brought back Lord Chumley for this sorta plot."
...and then they totally did that later, even retconning the first guy into being his estranged brother. So clearly the writers were fans/listened to the fans.
Nicole Dubuc, the head writer of the show, has also gone on record that she HATES most preschool-aimed cartoons because they're so often condescendingly simple and lazy, so she deliberately set out with RB to make the kind of show that she'd have liked to see as a kid - so it's wholesome and fun, but doesn't talk down to its target audience. It even has tight continuity with multiple recurring characters and relationships that develop over many episodes.
Plus, it's got a sexy British lady robot spy.
