What you're describing is dedicated design and programing for warfare performance, which would require military grade components. Nandroids are base level domestic service devices, and would not be able to withstand the continous stress in a battlefield. You can't put a machine made basically out of plastic and light metals into the battlefield reliably, the same way you can't attach a rocket launcher into a lawnmower and expect it to last long. It will work a couple times, but it will evebtually fall apart on its own.
Of course, I'm not saying that there's not something akin to robotic combat field assistance, but the scope of the comic says nothing about it.
