>>117512737BUT, once another change has been made, another step forward, memorys of the prior change having ever happened fade away, as far as they're concerned it's as always been. (So they could say "Yeah, I stopped holding in my farts, so what, why should it, it feels nice to let it out." but they'd be confused if you brought up the pizza "Everyone I know's always gotten 4 slices Star, it fills ya up....eh, now that ya mention it, maybe I should get 5 tomorrow)
And later on(months later) as the changes get more drastic and big, this grace period leaves, and people will occasionally suddenly doublethink mid sentence (Star, the healthy weight for a girl your age is 400 pounds, and your only 110. Getting you up to a healthy 450 pounds won't be easy, but I know a-)
And the instant alteration of memories as to what's normal is kinda what I wanted to go for, the grace period is neat, I just thought it was overly complicated.
Oh, and the males of the universe also adapt to find this behavior normal for females(they themselves degrade a bit to reduce the gap, but that's not the focus so it's more of a handwave)
So yeah, the first change is that they want to eat just a little bit more at lunch, and the fullness is really nice.
Then we start to cut forward, because again, middle wasn't well planned.
3 or 4 weeks in Star is still oblivious because the changes have been minor, slightly larger portions, everyone has a little bit of pudge, people seem less shameful, Star wouldn't notice, and she goes back to Mewni to attend something, thus indirectly infecting them with the curse(except 1 month behind step wise)
After returning, Star begins to get suspicious. She's pointing out some of the weird inconsistences and initially dismisses it as her own confusion, but when she catches a change in progress and notes the sudden changes in memory, she starts to realize something is up.
