>>117494724Californians are mostly narcissists. They don't really go out of their way to be assholes, it's more like they think you should be grateful that they've decided to grace you with their presence. Inside California they'll mostly just ignore you, I've had people stare at me like a deer in headlights when I engaged in light pleasantries like "how are you doing today?" or "have a nice day." The kind shit people around here mostly say automatically. When they move to your area (because California is a shit hole) they tend to complain a lot that things aren't the way they're used to. Mostly Californians are just very stuck on themselves but they don't go out of their way to be assholes, outside of moving into your area and wondering why you don't want to bend over to accommodate them.
I've only interacted with New Yorkers over the phone in a customer service setting but I can say they were by far the nastiest people to deal with to the point that when I saw an address in New York pop on the screen I knew it was gonna be a bad call. They're also on average stupid as hell. Shit like a lady being pissed off that I couldn't take her payment because she had never given us any information to put on file and I needed her to go get her checkbook in the other room. She could not and would not believe I was incapable of taking her payment without any payment information. Oddly enough for the bad rap they get, people from New Jersey tended to be pretty decent. Even when I had to give them bad news they were able to differentiate between the message and the messanger and never busted my balls for it.
Southerners, well it just depends who you get I guess. They can run the gamut from pleasant to asshole. Depending on what you're doing you tend to get old ass rednecks that think they can dictate terms to you when they clearly have no right nor reason to expect to do so. They think the world works a certain way and get extremely pissy when it doesn't but that's about it.
