I kind of dislike how right after the Grom reveal that Amity turns into a blushing moron when Luz even acknowledges her existence, it's not subtle or gradual at all. Here's my theory: I believe that the mysterious figure from the end of Young Blood Old Souls is likely one of the Blight parents, as this will really solidify the prestige of the family. Who gets treated better than anyone else? Why, members of the Emperor's coven. Amity wants to be in the best coven likely because both her parents (who attended a coven duel with other members, by the way) and her hero, Lilith, are there. There will probably be an arc where Amity has to choose between following what she's worked all of her life for, or act of her feelings for Luz. Perhaps even, her parents will put her up to betraying Luz, further pumping up the stakes? I think this makes sense narratively and feels natural.
The show runners can really mess this shit up if they simply relegate "Lumity" to just fan service.
