>>116938913>Open beta is out this weekend, has anyone tried it?Yes.
>How bad? It's not, it just needs things to fill in the space between the major enemy zones. My only real issue because it feels barren when you're just jumping or flying to the next area. They tried to mitigate that by adding the much shorter drop zones to make it not feel like padding, but the longer levels definitely need looking into to not make it so dead.
>Where can they improve? I initially thought enemy variety was an issue, but the enemies are varied enough that I have to approach a fight more carefully whenever one of those shield/staff-wielding fucks or an Adaptoid are in the mix. So the variety is fine if this is only like 20% of the enemies present in the full game.
They seriously need to improve performance, because my system, which is relatively decent, felt like it was actually dying during the second HARM room challenge even though it was running perfectly fine beforehand everywhere else.
Improve the warning indicators to be more accurate. They're very hard to read in the chaotic fuckfests, but sometimes they don't even show up simply because you're facing in the same direction as the missile-shooting asshole while you're focused and dodging an Adaptoid trying to fuck your ass.
>What works? The combat, I have fun with every character. People like to wank over Black Widow because she's fun, but Hulk is a nearly unkillable mob mitigating motherfucker with his rage, grabs, and power attacks staggering and keeping the enemy from attacking the team. The characters only feel samey early on, but they really fill into their role when you level them up even just a little bit.
