On one hand, statements like "love is just a chemical" and "I have infinite daughters" coupled with choices like bailing on a universe when he fucked up too hard or creating a clone of Beth only to make sure he didn't know which one was real, implies that he does indeed consider his family to be expendable on an objective level. However, the fact that he also goes out of his way to keep them around and seems to genuinely seems to enjoy their company (yes, including Jerry when nobody else is around). When he's left alone with the butter robot he gets kind of antsy about not having anyone around and the bailing on a reality was refered to as "a last resort emergency solution" and didn't do it when the family had put him at the bottom of the hiearchy despite threatening to do it, all of which implies that he really doesn't want to leave them. This is further hammered in by the toxicity episode where we are shown what he considers the ideal version of himself (or at least what you can get by simply removing the parts of himself that he hates without replacing them with something better), a pleasant man who cares about ethics and treats his family well but can live without them to the point of not even caring if they die.
