>>116918256It's funny that the DNC can't muster together ONE likable person on the ticket. The best they can go for is 'inoffensive'
The classic curve of American population to political stance is that there's a huge hump on the Right and a slow descent off from that to the Left. This means guys like Trump can be as extreme as they like and still retain their base, along with a sizable population of moderates who will accept all manner of nonsense if they get to feel secure in their jobs.
Conversely, you have the DNC unable to muster a single half decent person who actually actively appeals to people.
Biden wasn't chosen because he was even the best moderate, he was chosen as an attempt to win over Black voters who associate him with Obama (even though he's not even nearly as liberal as Obama, who himself was rather moderate).
The result is that they're banking entirely on presenting a more moderate and palatable alternative to Trump's free-wheeling for moderates. The caveat is that American moderates are generally pretty conservative by global standards, and by the standards of the more hardcore Left/Progressives in the US.
So the DNC, the party of "Hello fellow kids", throws in Kamala Harris to try to solidify the black vote and placate the Left with a token candidate.
But she's a fucking cop so of course everyone who knows anything about her record knows she's no different from Cory Booker.
The real secret of Obama was that he was pretty inoffensive to most nearly everyone, including hardcore Progressives. The goal should be to find someone that just doesn't piss off the Liberals since they do make up a growing base for the party.
