>>116662471I was around for the first couple threads from before the reboot, and at that point the only reference was the Pepe design being reused- and that was interesting and acceptable easily as just an instance of reusing a common design/image, maybe even coincidence.
I let weeks pass by so I can read a bigger amount of things later on, and decide to check this thread to see how it's going- and in one page there's immediately three different 4chan memes, plus from what people're saying in the thread, a bunch of others have happened since.
I'm sorry you don't like that people're complaining about that, anon, but the appeal early on was entirely on trying to understand this bizarre mythology and symbology. If instead I'm just seeing the same memes I've seen for ages, that doesn't result in "I wonder what this means, so intriguing", it just looks like "haha my fellow audience, here's the things you like". And has any comic ever been made better by outright pandering to its audience?
I don't know what a voihon, meicon, the wolf and the lamb are exactly, and I can only compare them to generalised common archetypes when possible and try to understand what's being meant, and that together with the aesthetic was the appeal. Now the only appeal is I get to see le friendly merchant drawn in a mix of Hungarian cartoon with Tezuka. And I find that a shame.
