Ever since Bendis forgot her character and everyone just played along from there, I just couldn't get invested in her anymore. Her character became bland and her stories also became bland.
She's been too long without a writer who actually gave a shit about writing good stories for her. I assume Taylor somewhat cared for her character, but sadly he just didn't have the guts to turn that into a good story. Instead he ended up handing even more wins to a character who was already almost entirely without struggle at that point, only further exacerbating the problems she had.
Honestly, X-23 needs a proper kick in the teeth to give her struggles again. If I wanna read happy-go-lucky super hero adventures I don't go to the series with the child assassin/child prostitute/mass murderer killing machine as the protagonist.
