I gave that show a shot a while back because it was animated by Studio Mir and I think it had a David Bowie Labyrinth expy as the villain (at least, a wave of the toys did).
When one of the elves joyfully exclaimed that it was time for them all to take an "Elfie" (you know, a selfie, like the kids like to do, but like an elf version), I almost bailed, fearing that the whole show would be filled with similarly challenging lines, but I brushed it off as a hopefully one-time occurrence.
Early in the next episode, there was a dialogue exchange that went something like>Wow, this chariot ride is totally...um, what was that word you used Emily?>Uh, on fleek?>Yeah! This chariot ride is on fleek!
and I wasn't strong enough to continue.
I get it, I understand wanting to blatantly appeal to kids in a kids' cartoon, but writers have to know that shit like that will age like milk, right?
