>>116535085>Yeah, not a fan of the unicorn thing. It puts the blame of the Exile and the War squarely on humanity's shoulders. It's not even that. It's that we've seen nothing in the show that links up with this in the show so far.
The Unicorn thing should be brought up by the elves constantly as a sign of how humanity are in the wrong and immoral. The elvish watch over the human lands should have the Unicorn as their symbol for example and things like that.
Fuck 'Remember the Unicorns' should be a saying used any time anyone thinks of helping a human.
It should be the 'So about those 6 million' of the Dragon Prince setting.
But it's not because it's been crammed into the story midway through, so it sticks out like a cock in a glory hole as an obvious retcon just to make it clear humans bad, elves are never wrong.
Same as the whole 'Oh humans could use magic all along uwu' bullshit.
If humans could use all the magics, why are they lesser beings? Why did they need the Primal Stones at all? Why were they tempted by Dark Magic? Why were they starving? Why haven't the elves, now that the humans are down to like, 2.5 dark mages in existence, started sneakily sending missionaries across the border to 'reveal' to humans that they could totes use magic all along and thus bring them around to forgetting dark magic was even a thing?
The only answer that fits in the slightest is because it's been pulled out the writers arse like a line of knotted handkerchiefs with no thought for how it fits with the story so far, a garish attempt to justify a genocide by going 'B-b-but the humans did it first! They were doing totally fine right up until the point they chimped out for no reason whatsoever.'
