I saw Peridot as having some kind of social handicap that she learned to work past as well as “grew up in a heavily religious household”-type fucked up views on the world, but I kind of got PTSD as the problem with Lapis and she uses art as therapy. Like how a lot of veterans became actors, writers, or painters, and how kids or spouses who survive abuse are taught to channel their feelings into creative outlets.
