>>116254872>I agree with some form of barrier to votingMost people who see which kinds of people have the right to vote do, why should leeches on society, welfare queens, childless cat ladies, CONVICTED FELONS (in some states) have the same say in deciding a country's future as those whose children will actually have to grow up in the future they voted for, people who've actually contributed and given their time?
>but I don't know about military service specificallyIt's not for everyone, but if you're going to lead a country's military, I believe you should have some military experience.
As for mere voters, it matters even more that they have the right to vote because they have a legitimate stake. A season veteran's vote is worth far more than some 18-year-old nobody's who just so happens to be an adult now and that's what "qualifies" him to vote.
>I also say this as someone who doesn't really view voting as that big a deal, though."Democracy is talking itself to death. The people do not know what they want; they do not know what is the best for them. There is too much foolishness, too much lost motion. Democracy is beautiful in theory; in practice it is a fallacy. You in America will see that some day." -Benito Mussolini
