I think it's related to her ability to make any wisp of a spirit present in the dream plane her bitch.

Now the weird thing is that I think the thing she's holding is tied to that big scary door and the fact that the thing attacking also has a big mix of colors probably isn't a coincidence...

I'm not really sure how this works metaphorically, but I think this whole demiplane is technically inside some enormous spirit that's being kept asleep, and Boss Leader just hit it with it's own soul?

To me, the mix of eyes and teeth and colors reminds me of the door on this page, and the Creature attacking is also a mix of colors.

Also I think what BL and Ed's Mom are talking about is relevant to what's happening now, so that's a surprisingly early payoff.
